Stephanie M. Brault, Esq. devotes her practice to civil litigation, with a particular focus on trust and probate disputes. Prior to joining Gokal Law Group, Stephanie spent more than a decade practicing in the areas of lawyer conduct, professional responsibility, breach of fiduciary duty and legal ethics. Stephanie brings a distinct perspective to litigation, specifically in the prosecution of legal malpractice actions. Stephanie’s experience evaluating the conduct and professional obligations of attorneys has given her a unique understanding of the standards lawyers are expected to meet – and the consequences clients face when those standards are not met.
Stephanie brings unwavering dedication to her clients in every case, and believes that effective advocacy is grounded in integrity, careful preparation, and a genuine commitment to achieving justice. Stephanie is passionate about protecting her clients’ rights and holding professionals and fiduciaries responsible when their conduct falls short, while remaining guided by the principles of ethics, fairness, and the rule of law.
Stephanie earned her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Chapman University School of Law, where she served as the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Nexis Journal of Law and Policy and published her note on domestic legislative policies. Stephanie also served on the Executive Boards for the Chapman Appellate Moot Court Team and the Public Interest Law Foundation. Stephanie earned CALI Awards for achieving the highest class grades in Trial Practice, Criminal Procedure, and Legal and Equitable Remedies; she graduated from Chapman Law in the top 9% of her class.
Stephanie has spent a significant amount of time engaged in pro bono activities, including working with both the Legal Aid Society of Orange County and Community Lawyers, Inc. Stephanie previously worked at the law firm of Chooi & Co. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is an avid world-traveler.
